Events of Microbiology Department in 2023-25
The Department was established in 2021, focusing primarily on diagnostic work,infection control, teaching and research, it has organized various events, including CMEs and a state-level quiz program. This year, the department introduced several seminars, integrated learning programs, and different types of SGD. A key component of the department’s activities is infection control which is significant area of focus, with a dedicated team led by the department. The team conducts regular rounds to monitor biomedical waste segregation and disposal, ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards. Regular immunization programs for healthcare workers, including vaccines for Hepatitis B conducted.The department actively sensitizes staff nurses and support staff about universal precautions, vaccination, and biomedical waste management. It also observes national and global health awareness days, such as World Hepatitis Day, World TB Day, World Hand Hygiene Week,and World AIDS Day. Notably,the department is proud to be the first to welcome M.D postgraduate students.
